Youth Club President
My name is Catie Fike and I am the president of the WNYQHYCI. I am 18 years old and I will be attending Canisius College in the fall. My favorite part of horse showing is being able to spend time with my friends. I love showing with my friends and hanging out with them between classes. I wanted to be an officer to help lead the club and ensure that everyone's voice is heard. I have been a member of the club for 6 years and I want to help the club continue to grow. I hope to make 2016 the best year we've had.
|Youth Club Vice President
My name is Madeline Keyes. I am 16 years old, and I am the 2016 WNYQHYCI Vice President. I have been showing Quarter Horses ever since I was little. My favorite part of the horse world is being able to show my horses, learning new things and being able to spend time with my friends. Also showing horses teaches very important skilles like leadership which helps us in the real world. I have been on the board for 3 years. This club has so many oppertunities to offer and it is a great club to be apart of. I have been honored to have a say in this club and I can't wait to see where it goes in the future. Good luck to all showing this year and don't forget to have fun!
Youth Club Treasurer
Hi, my name is Sydney Newton. I am 15 years old and I am a sophomore at Royalton Hartland High School. I am treasurer of the youth club. I wanted to become an elected officer of the club because I love meeting new people and I really want to make this a great year in the club for all of our members. My goals for the club are to continue to do our fundraisers to help us have the opportunity to go on a really great trip with the club. I also want to see all of the members accomplish a lot this year, and to share their accomplishments with the club! I started riding when I was 5 years old, and I ride at Amy Hanssen's Training Center. I am currently leasing a new horse for this show season and her name is Ally. I am really enjoying the challenge of learning on a new horse! My favorite part of the horse world is that you are always meeting new people and learning new things! If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me!
|Youth Club Director
Hello: My name is Brooklynn Czelusta and I am a Youth Club Director! I am fifteen years old and attend Newfane Senior High School. This is my second year as a board member and I am so excited to see what the year brings. I have been riding horses for about five years. I started out showing Western and made the switch to English the following year.
I bought my first horse Leroy in 2013. I showed Leroy in open shows and a few Quarter horse Shows. I sold and purchased a new horse named Buttons. She is a seven year old Quarter Horse, and loves to jump! I am showing her in the Quarter horse show circuit this year.
I train and board my horse at Amy Hanssen’s Training Center. I ride four to five days a week to get ready for my shows. My favorite thing about riding is that you feel a graceful connection with the horse. There is simply no other feeling like it. My other favorite thing about riding is you make new friends! The people you meet at horse shows, Equine Affairs and horse clubs is always fun.
I can’t wait to see everyone at our meetings and at the events this year. If you have any questions or concerns please feel free to ask me!!!!
| Youth Club Director
Hello! My name is Ashley Randall and I am a youth club director. I am 15 years old and have been riding my entire life. I attend Wilson High School and participate in their Senior High band. I ride English and I barrel race, but my favorite thing to do is show western. I show my horse Somthing Cotton, AKA Frank, at many open shows including Niagara County Fairgrounds. I also have a miniature horse named Apple Jacks. I love all of the experiences and joy I get from showing my horses and I can't wait to see the new ones that come from being a director! If you have any questions, feel free to ask me!
Youth Club Secretary
Hi, I'm Mikayla Crofford and I'm the secretary of the youth club.
I am 15 and I attend Williamsville East High School. I also play soccer
for my school and for a club team outside of school. I have been riding
for 10 years and for about 6 years at Amy Hanssen Training Center. My
horse's name is Prin Cess Leia (aka Dahlia) and we do the AQHA horse
shows. Riding gives me a way to relieve the stress of school and life and
get away for a bit. The friends that have become family make it even better!
My favorite part about being the secretary of this club is that I can make
friends with the people who enjoy that sport as much as I do. I would love to
represent the club in the way that is deserves. I look forward to the rest of the
year with the youth club!
